Behind the Mission: The Vision That Started It All
Every ministry has a beginning.
For Convicted 4 Christ, it didn’t begin with a business plan or a fundraising campaign. It began years ago in a prison cell.
Pastor Snake remembers wrestling with questions about God during his incarceration. Looking back, he believes that what he once misunderstood was actually God inviting him into a new life.
“I thought it was Satan knocking at my door telling me to prove the Bible was wrong,” he says. “Now I think it was God knocking at my door saying, ‘Come look. I’ll show you what’s right.’”
That encounter planted a vision he couldn’t shake.
For years, three simple letters kept coming to mind:
C4C.
He imagined seeing those letters everywhere - on hats, shirts, and jackets. At first, he believed they stood for Convicts for Christ. More than a name, they represented a calling to reach people who had experienced incarceration, addiction, brokenness, and hopelessness with the love of Jesus Christ.
The vision stayed with him for years.
Eventually, Pastor Snake shared that dream with Michael.
It wasn’t simply about opening another ministry. It was about creating a place where people could experience genuine relationships, find hope, and encounter Christ without pressure or condemnation.
“I wanted to help people,” Pastor Snake says. “I wanted a sober living where following Jesus wasn’t forced, but where people could encounter Him through relationships. I wanted to preach the Gospel without saying a word.”
Together, they prayed, waited, and trusted God to open the right doors.
Then, unexpectedly, God provided the opportunity to begin.
After a car accident resulted in a small insurance settlement, Pastor Snake looked at Michael and said, “This is the moment.”
Those funds became the foundation for launching the nonprofit.
As the ministry took shape, the name evolved from Convicts for Christ to Convicted 4 Christ Ministries - a name that reflects a deeper truth. Every follower of Christ is called to live a life fully convicted by His love, His grace, and His purpose.
Today, that original vision continues to shape everything Convicted 4 Christ does.
It shapes every community shower, outreach, meal served, every conversation, and of course, every prayer.
The mission has never been simply to provide services. It has always been about building relationships, restoring dignity, and helping people experience the love of Jesus Christ in practical, life-changing ways.
What began as a vision in a prison cell continues today through faithful volunteers, community partners, and supporters who believe that no one is beyond hope.
The story of Convicted 4 Christ is still being written, one life at a time.
