Behind the Mission: Building Community Through Relationships
Ask Michael what Convicted 4 Christ does, and he probably won’t start by talking about community showers, outreach events, or meals.
He’ll start by talking about people.
One of the stories he loves to share is how Humanity Showers began. What started as a simple desire to help people experiencing homelessness take a hot shower quickly became something much bigger.
A community formed.
People didn’t just come for clean clothes or hot water. They came because they were known. They built relationships. They found a place where someone remembered their name, listened to their story, and cared enough to keep showing up.
That’s the heart behind Convicted 4 Christ.
Every Wednesday, community showers become much more than an opportunity to get clean. They become a place where people receive wound care, meals, hygiene supplies, clothing, referrals, prayer, and encouragement. More importantly, they become a place where trust is built one conversation at a time.
For Michael, ministry has never been about simply meeting an immediate need.
It’s about creating community.
“When people gather around the showers, they begin finding more than services,” he explains. “They begin finding relationships.”
That philosophy shapes every part of the ministry.
Whether it’s sharing a meal in the park, walking an encampment, delivering supplies, or sitting beside someone who’s struggling, the goal remains the same: love people well and keep showing up.
Michael is also deeply committed to stewarding every donation wisely.
Convicted 4 Christ operates with a “tent-making” philosophy inspired by the Apostle Paul. Rather than relying solely on donations, the ministry works to build sustainable sources of support that allow donor contributions to go directly toward outreach, community showers, meals, hygiene supplies, and caring for those in need.
“We have a tent-making business that creates ministries,” Michael says.
It’s a model built on stewardship, accountability, and the belief that every gift should make the greatest possible impact.
For Michael, ministry isn’t measured by the number of programs offered.
It’s measured by relationships built.
Because lasting transformation rarely begins with a shower, a meal, or a hygiene kit.
It begins when someone feels seen, valued, and loved.
That’s the kind of community Convicted 4 Christ is working to build every single day.
