Trading Up
For some, this may be a way to trade up and end up with an item of greater value. For some, it might just be a fun way to get involved in something. I would imagine somebody might think it’s just a crazy idea. Of course, there are others who won’t give it a second thought at all.
I guess you’ve gotta say there’s all sorts of ways people can look at a little “Trade Up” fundraiser.
At the end of the day, no matter how this is perceived, I’m more concerned with how—and by who—it will be received.
You guys, what we raise from this zany little idea may be the difference in where a child ends up living, or whether a senior citizen gets to keep their apartment. It may cover the cost of repairing a mother of three’s vehicle so she can get to work and get her children to and from school. It may be the avenue that brings somebody the relief they need and provides the hope they’re desperately clinging to.
For those of you who’ve always wondered what you can do to help, even if you don’t have something to trade, you can still make a difference. Get the word out. Encourage your friends to get involved.
And of course… prayer.
Current item up for trade is this Black Hills Gold brooch.
