Behind the Mission: Faithfully Showing Up

Bob and his right hand guy, Brian.

“People are still human beings. They need to eat. We have food. There’s got to be a way to get it into their hands.”- Bob

If you’ve spent any time around Convicted 4 Christ Ministries, chances are you’ve met Bob Nealon.

For more than a decade, Bob has been quietly serving people experiencing homelessness, addiction, and hardship throughout North County San Diego. Long before Convicted 4 Christ was established, he was helping lead street outreach, connecting people with recovery programs, delivering meals, and building relationships with those often overlooked.

When the COVID shutdown began, and parks closed overnight, many people experiencing homelessness suddenly lost access to meals and support. Instead of walking away, Bob and the outreach team worked with local leaders, volunteers, and community partners to find a way forward.

That first day became the beginning of an incredible collaboration that continues today. What started with a truck full of food helped launch partnerships that ensured people could continue receiving meals, resources, and hope throughout the pandemic.

As the need grew, so did the ministry.

Working alongside Brian and countless volunteers, Bob helped coordinate one of Southern California’s largest single-day food distributions, serving more than 3,000 families each week and distributing over 85,000 pounds of food every Saturday during the height of the pandemic.

Ask Bob about those accomplishments, though, and he’ll quickly point the attention somewhere else.

He’ll tell you it has always been about people.

It’s about making sure someone has a meal. Helping someone find recovery. Walking beside people who simply need to know they haven’t been forgotten.

Today, Bob continues serving through Convicted 4 Christ Ministries with the same heart he had over a decade ago: showing up, loving people well, and trusting God to do the rest.

We’re grateful for Bob and every volunteer who faithfully serves behind the scenes. Their quiet acts of obedience are changing lives every day.
